This question makes me laugh. I used to dog-ear my pages, but then I was scolded for doing so. And now I scold anyone who even remotely looks like they're the type of reader to do it. I don't know if it was something I adopted, or if I just found myself slowly slipping into that mindset, but I can't stand it. I can't even butterfly my paperback books all the way to read them. They're always partly closed so they stay in perfect condition when they're back on the shelf. My hardcovers are pretty much fine to open all the way without damage. But creases, and markings or doodles of any sort... they make me feel twitchy. Especially when people crack the spines of new books. Lol.

I rarely read paper books now. However, I have never dogeared pages. It is hard to say how, but I somehow remember the page on which I stopped. Maybe this is something like a reader's instinct? :D

Bookmark. Dog ear pages always drive me nuts and feel like someone is ruining a good book!

I do that but after I finish using the book I always straighten them out and iron them if necessary.

Wow, I guess I don't have nearly the same respect for books like most of you! I used to dog-ear the book pages, but I stopped and started using scrap paper, or anything flat that is nearby, lol. I only stopped because My kids would get ahold of my books and undo my fold, so I would lose my place. I will not do it to other people's books, or library books, though. Only to my own personal books, because it doesn't bother me.

Please don't attack me, but I do it all the time. I always tell myself that I won't, and then I just do by habit. And then I find myself going "Darn." I did it again.

No, I try to stop at a certain chapter or just flip through until I find where I left off.

I never dog ear and never have.

I usually use a scrap of paper. Sometimes a book mark. I think it's easier to find my page that way
