The loneliest fictional character... If we can use T.V. shows, it's got to be somebody in Doctor Who. But in a book my vote is The Giver. He had to be so, so lonely. Holding all that information, and never aloud to have a family, or tell anyone anything.

1. Hamlet
2. Heathcliff
3. Dorian Gray

It is my belief that the character of Hamlet inspired those of both Heathcliff and Dorian Gray. Am surprised nobody mentioned Hamlet, who is also so misunderstood.

For me Alaska from the book "Looking for Alaska" by John green is the loneliest fictional character. She had been suffering her entire life after a day's incident. During the last days of her life, she had been searching answer for the question, "How will you ever get out of the labyrinth of suffering?"
