Library or owning?

Post by SparklingOne »

I always liked owning my books. It always seemed a hassle to only have a certain amount of time to enjoy a story. How about you?

I must own. I have a hooooorrid habit of not returning books to libraries and then I accrue massive fees :( It's horrible. But owning books is much nicer, anyway, I think.

I like to own my books before reading..It's kinda weird. I think it's because I like to look back on what I've read. And also be able to easily refer someone. And most of the books I own are really pretty to look at.

I prefer owning, of course, but I will definitely try a new author at the library if the library has the book. I like to browse in the library more than a bookstore. I pay for the library anyway, so I may as well use it!
Maria saw her first dragon while gardening. The gnome tried to take pictures, but dragons are very fast. The fairy finally snapped a shot, but the dragon came by and flamed it to ashes! No one wants to get burned so, sadly, there will not be pictures!

Both. I love the library just for the feeling of being surrounded by millions of books, the peace and quiet (I am a wife and Mom of 2). I could spend hours and days reading & sifting through books at the library. I also like to own books. Just because I enjoy having my favorites in my possession, or a pile of books available when needed to enjoy in a cozy corner of my home. Especially on rainy days. I like to collect from my fave authors as well.

Own! If I want to read it or have and live it I have to have it in one of my bookshelves.

I love the idea of people sharing book and it not costing as much to read a book than it would to buy it from a store but I can never shake the idea of someones unclean hands or snot on the pages, maybe someone sneezed on it? Also the smell is not always great either. However me and my friends always share books with each other, especially if its amazingly good!

Owning for sure, I don't use libraries too often, borrowing and returning is just too much of a hassle to me! haha

I opt for both. I do own several books, but I also have a library card. It all comes down to the pass, borrow, buy system for me. There are some books that I feel just aren't worth reading. I skip those. There are books that are worth reading at least once, I use the library for these. If I can't get a book out of my head and I feel like I need to re-read it a million times, I buy it. Don't get me wrong, I love books. Someday I will have my own private library. But I don't want it to be filled with books I'll only read once.

I prefer to own my books. It makes each one special, for some reason.

I prefer to own my books, but I only buy books that I feel worth owning or a second reading. I also borrow library books for books I know I won't read again.
