It's different! If that's true, you have a great skill!

Haha! I am happy to know that I am not the only one sniffing books. 😅😂 I mostly own second-hand books, and yes I have sniffed all of them. I just love the smell of old books!

OMG i have been teased most of my life for sniffing and smelling books! I noticed that my 2.5 year old son does it as well and i find it quite endearing. There is something about the smell of the pages of a book, new or old.

I don't do it, but I have a friend who does it. Never knew that there were so many people out there who did it as well.

Who doesn't love to sniff a book? :lol2: Whether it's a brand new book or a very old book I love to smell it. Books have such a great smell which I why I could never own a Kindle or e-reader. I love not just the smell of a book but the feel of it too. I love to run my hand along the cover and spine, and nothing beats it when you gently break the spine (not too much just a little so as not to ruin it). Does that make me sound crazy?

Yes, I am! I love the smell of old books as well as new. But I especially love the smell of old ones. There's something in the ink and the way the paper is made that when they age it gives off this amazing aroma.

I just spat out my coffee! Guilty as charged! I love sniffing books. I read a lot on Kindle now for convenience, but nothing beats the smell and feel of a good book.

I have never being able to evaluate how good was a good by the smell but yes, I like the smell of a new book (as far as it isn't a plastic one) and I always smell them when I get a new one (now less often and I get them online and it wouldn't make much sense!)

This just made me lol, for real, but I know it's a real thing. Old books have a great smell, but I had no idea that you could tell individual books apart or judge their quality from it.
Can you smell other things as well? Fear? Time? 8)

Absolutely. My uncle recently gave us (my family, but I suspect it was mostly for me) that is from the late 1890s. It is wonderful, old books are best, I think, but any book will do.

There is something about the smell of books: I can't describe. But now I am feeling nostalgic about that library in my school. God bless!
