Ok, so I will admit that I love the smell of books. It's just that musty scent of the paper that gets me, and it's impossible to not sniff a new book since that smell only last temporarily.

I LOVE sniffing books! I get such weird looks in stores and all, but I don't care anymore. My friends also love to tease me about it, but the smell is so good and comforting-- kind of like when you open a container of tennis balls. There's just something about it that makes my endorphins go off!

I love the smell of new books, so I always smell them. I don't think it's weird, it is just another thing that makes me love books!

Yes, I am guilty of this! I especially love the smell of recycled pages.

I can't believe this thread exists! XD I'm guilty of sniffing pages sometimes, but I never knew anyone had the same habit. I guess everyone kept quiet about it.

I do enjoy the smell if it is brand new. I do not like the smell of a book if it is a library book or used book, I get grossed out thinking about the germs inside from many different people! I also clean my hands when I'm done reading for the moment, of the book is used because of potential germs! 😬

I, unfortunately, do not like the smell of old books. For some reason the smell gives me nausea.

I wish I could... I have no sense of smell and I've always wondered what it was like :( :(
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” HST

I would totally buy one that smelled like the books that you find in antique stores!

I don't sniff books to determine if they are good or not. I just sniff them for the guilty pleasure of it! Haha! I often catch myself smelling a book while reading it. There's just...something about it.
