Author One Hit Wonders

Does anyone have a book they loved, but found that the author's other books were not up to par?

I read Andy Weir's "The Martian" and loved the story, humor, and suspense. It also made a pretty awesome movie adaptation. His later works I felt were like rehashes of the same characters and ideas instead of building off his previous success, and I would be surprised if his other books get movie deals.

Lonely Apocalypse by Constantin Step. I read almost all of his books and found that Lonely Apocalypse is by far the best one.
