I normally give gift cards for bookstores, but I will occasionally buy books for my grandmother or my dad who are both avid readers.

I usually ask for books if someone wants to give me something. I still want to be surprised though so I just mention the genre, then it's up to them to choose a particular book.

I don't usually give books as gifts since I don't want to impose my personal taste to the recipient unless they ask for it.

I don't usually give books as gifts unless I know the person likes to read. However, I always have at least 3 books on my gift list. Either friends will get them for me or I'll treat myself to one of them every now and then.

I will appreciate books if I'm given as a gift and do not quite find any issue with giving people any book as well.

I love getting books as gifts! I tend to gravitate towards the same authors when I go to the book store so when someone gives me a book as a gift or even just recommends a book, it gives me an opportunity to expand my author inventory.

Books are my favorite gift, and I can never tell my kids no when they ask for books at the store. We have an ever growing TBR pile.

I met a friend (whom I eventually dated) that introduced me to giving books as gifts. It has become customary for me to give out books as gifts. I am glad because, through this gesture, I have helped some friends develop the habit of reading.

I love giving my family books as gifts. It is something we can talk about when we get together. I don't mind giving books as gifts because reading is a good, healthy hobby.

When talking about people that I know they are good readers, yes I like to gift books because I know they appreciate it. My parents, my in-laws and some friends are in that group. I like receiving them as well, although I like most of the gifts (I appreciate the detail) so I'm probably easy.

Everyone knows to get me a Barnes and Nobles gift card for my birthday. I'm constantly buying books so I love getting them as gifts. I usually get art books for gifts because I like to draw.

I find the idea of gifting books fascinating. Unfortunately, nobody around me is a reader enough to be excited about gifting/ receiving books as gifts.

It will be a good present. But, I haven't received such a gift from anyone.
