I always give books to my preschoolers with there Christmas presents. For my older kids 18 & 20 I don't because I don't know what they want. Sometimes I make a day of it at the bookstore and let them choose some or give them gift cards for books.

I love giving books away as gifts! It's such an amazing thing! As for asking for books as gifts, I do it for every Christmas and birthday.

I got some books as a present for my birthday. Its so nice when people know you well and want to share a book they love with you.

I thought the trend of people asking for gifts of their loved ones favorite books. Its so nice to have something that means a lot to someone you care about. Especially if it is their copy.

I give and receive books as gifts. I think it is a really nice gesture when someone gets me a book because they are picking out something they think I'll enjoy, which takes thoughtfulness.

I am actually the one asking for books. I have never tried giving books as gift because i tend to want to read the books i get. But i have a friend who give books as gifts. She is very generous when it comes to it actually which is why at times, i check her mini library and read the books first before she gives them away.

Yes I would definitely like to get books as gifts. I'd also recommend gifting books to people, provided they are bookaholic enough. But the problem I often face is that those who love books have a greater probability of having already read the books I'm thinking of giving. So I have to know his/her choice beforehand, and consequently can not give a surprise present!

There's a time I received a book as a gift.

I hated it because it's a tragic book. I hate tragedies.

Of course, I received it with a smile and a subsequent Thank You So Much! lmao!~ :lol2:

I always include a book when I give children presents. Also, a new book is my favorite gift to receive. :)

I just received a book as a gift today. It's a devotional by the legendary Billy Graham - it Includes a devotional reading for each day of the year. I'm excited to start reading it! The book was a gift from my aunt.

I have a Sunday school class and I get my students books for their birthdays. I get the really cute series so they'll have a collection going, plus everyone gets the same kind of gift so there is no favoritism. Also it make my shopping list simple.
