Only if I'm lending it out but now, most of my books are on the kindle.

I used to do this but quited. At first it seemed that it makes certain connection between me and the book. But now I think that it was a bit selfish and I am more for the idea of sharing books. You can keep the connection between you and the book in your mind.

Of course I don't mind when people write their names on the book, it is still quite nice...

I write my name inside books that I take to my classroom. It is just to make sure I get them back.

Only if it's a book for my kids, then I put their names and the date that I gave it to them. That is only if it's a special book though, something I intend on keeping for them for when they are older and have kids of their own.

I've never done so, but I have noticed a lot of names or little notes scribed in the covers of some used books I've purchased.

I absolutely do. There's a sense of ownership in writing your name in cursive on that first clean page. Then, when books are passed along or given away they carry with them the name of the reader who came before. You're linked now, I think, when you've read the same book.

Writing on a book to me is the same as destroying a book. Never ever will I write, bend the pages, or do anything to alter the books original form.

Depends on the book, but I usually will highlight and or write in the book. Sometimes its nice to keep notes and other books I just really enjoy sitting back and relaxing and just letting the book take me where it will

No I don't write my name on my books, I never feel need of it. I love my books and I didn't share my books with other people.

I'd only write my name if I like the book so much that I would want everybody to know that it is mine. Aside from that, names for my textbooks in school are default. Those are the only two cases where I would write my name inside a book cover.

Okay, this might be weird. I write the date when I bought or received the book... Then sign it. I don't know why - I think it gives a stronger bond with the book (being the possessive person that I am). I really am not sure... :oops2: :oops2: :oops2:

I actively read, so I write my name in the cover and make notes within the text as I read along. It's a fun way to concentrate on the plot and characters. :D

There is no need for me to. Unless I am going to lend my book to someone and even than I am very picky who I lend my books to
