I also am a victim of reading instead of sleeping. I say to myself just one chapter and the next thing I know the book is finished. Look at the time only to find it is the middle of the night or even a hour or two before morning. To me a good book or one I truly enjoy is the kind that has you staying up late reading or one you finish in one sitting.

It's crazy, but I have. Now I recognize that I can still read it the next day so I have a cut off. Sometimes you can't wait to finish the book it's soooooo good, but then you're sad you when you do, so anticipation is always a plus.

I definitely did this when I was younger. I'd get so hooked on a book I'd give myself a stop limit but there was always something interesting I'd end on and would need to surpass that limit and make a new one. I love books that are so immersive that I can't put it down.

I have on a few occasions but when I am really tired sleep somehow becomes my priority.

No matter how interesting a book is, once I'm sleepy I sleep. I don't care :roll2:

It takes me a while to fall asleep at night, so one of my favorite things to do is read until I’m either so tired I can’t keep my eyes open any longer, or find myself not understanding a sentence I’ve reread 3 or more times. I’m very reliant on sleep, so I can’t say that I’ve ever stayed up all night reading, but I have definitely stayed awake into late hours of the night/early morning because I just couldn’t put the book down.

I love reading, morning, noon and night! But I also need my 8 hours of sleep each night, so I try to get a good balance between them.
