Do You Read The Acknowledgment Page?

I read every page in a book from the dedication to the acknowledgement page. I always find it interesting the unique things that authors put in their acknowledgements. For example, giving praise to caffeine or certain music that got them through. I love it when an author takes the time to acknowledge the readers.

Well...sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Usually depends on how I felt about the story over all.

Most of the time I read the acknowlegements. It amazes me when a very established and popular author has 1/2 page to a whole page of acknowlegements.

I usually do read the acknowledgment page. I like to read about the people who helped the author and the book. It gives me a deeper appreciation for the process that makes the book be able to come alive. I also like that usually the author adds more personal touches to this part, and it makes the story more real to me.

I never used to read the acknowledgment page or anything else. I would just dive right into the story. I don't remember when I started reading every page in the book but once I started doing that I have done it ever since. I like reading what the author has to say and I like reading about the author. I like to see when the book was first published and who published it. Now I like to know everything about a book before I read it.

Sometimes I read it but not often. I do like to read the dedication page though....maybe because it's often shorter than the acknowledgments.

I understand that.

When I read Sylvain Reynard, I always read the acknowledgements because the stuff in his books is so deep and I want to know where he learned all that.

I usually only read acknowledgments when an author writes about some historical incident or figure, or when an author had to rely on real life terms and procedures to make a story realistic, like a crime or courtroom novel.
