I'll second (or third) Bradbury's Farenheit 451 as well as Stephen King's The Gunslinger. I'll add Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes (the first few pages got me intrigued right off the bat), and maybe Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card to the list.

I recommend Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, or Dragons in our Midst Series. The first two would definitely be available in a library, but I'm not sure about the third series.

I would not recommend Harry Potter or Twilight.

Everyone here has great suggestions :D
The only thing I would add is that no matter what, keep exploring new genres. There's a book for everybody.
That said, I'll second Theodora's suggestion for Christopher Paolini's Inheritance trilogy, starting with Eragon. He wrote the first book when he was only 14, proving himself a natural artist and master of high fantasy.

I think "Bartimaeus Trilogy" is really interesting. The author is Jonathan Stroud. If you like fantasy, of course

Personally, I'd read something with simple, direct language since it's your first book. Something like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

Hay I'm 15 as well

okay since you are starting with your reading I will suggest the book series that inspired me to start reading
Note: That I have never read Harry potter or lord of the rings so I won't know how they are

How ever I really enjoyed the adventure series if Edin Blyton
She also had other series as the books witch unfortunately I could not read all of them
Hope it helped :o
