well, my average is about 3 books a day, and if we multiply that times 30 days a month, then that's about 90 books a month. Sometimes it's less of course, but generally that's how much I read.

There's no way I could read 90 books a month - I have too many other things to do! I reckon on three to four but that depends on the length of the book and how gripping the story is.

I'd say 4-5 because my schedule has become a lot busier. If it's during the holidays then about 9-10 a month?

I read a minimum of 10 books a month, but usually a lot more. I am a really fast reader so I can read a 300 page book in less than a day and that is after I get off of work before I go to bed.

It really depends on the size of the books, I devour books though, I read the entire Mercy Thompson series in a week, followed by the Anita Blake series. I've read as few as 5 books and as many as 20, it's all about the size and how hooked I get, if I am truly hooked like I was with the 50 Shades books (read in maybe 6 days at most), others I trudge through or quit because they lose my interest.

During the summer I can read about 3 or 4 books a month. Fall is my busiest season where I'm lucky if I get 2 read.

I read between 3-5 nonfiction books per month (all the way through, cover to cover) and use another 5-10 each month for research purposes.
For fiction books, this is (almost) entirely a function of my business. I usually read about 2 per month.
Total: 5-7 books per month cover to cover, and max of about 15 opened per month. (not counting my book wish list! :)

I honestly wish I could step into a time stopper library that allowed me to read as much as I wanted without having to worry about time passing me or being hungry or tired.

I voted in the 10+ catagory, but it really varies. I started keeping track last Dec. and I read 30 books that month. Since then, there have been months were I only got through 7 or 8. But keep in mind that I count everything, the middle grade books that I read so I can discuss them with my kids, the audio books I listen to as I clean the kitchen, and the real books that I sneak in now and then.

I would say I average 10 plus books a month. I am on book number 5 for just this week, so this will be a plus month. :) You have to understand that I have a book in my hand at all times. I am very fortunate and thankful that I have the ability to read anytime I want to.

In high school I read an average of 10-14 books a month ! It was something I enjoyed especially working at a library. When I started college the number went dramatically dibs to Maybe 2 but made it's way back up to 4. Now that it's summer and classes are out I've read 13 books in June.

According to this data so far...
  • 73% of members read 3 or more books a month
  • 51% (most) read 4 or more books per month
  • 30% read 6 or more
  • 20% read 8 or more
  • 17% read 10 or more

Does this seem right?

Also, I'm interested in how member's reading goals compare to these numbers. So I have another new poll about your monthly reading goal.

Both of these sets of data will help me in developing a new feature I am planning.
