Normally one book gets my full attention ... but I have recently found myself reading a regular book & a Kindle book in tandem.

I'm usually read one on the computer and have one or two going on audiobook. Occasionally a print book, too, when I can get my paws on one. :}

I'm reading five at the same time right now, the titles being:

The Satanic Verses
Foucault's Pendulum
The Sound and the Fury
Finnegans wake
Shadowland

I really don't see why some people consider doing this difficult.

I don't consider difficult just not my preferred option ... each to their own IMO :lol:

I have four books on my coffee table right now. I think the most I was ever reading at once was 8. Sometimes I'll end up not finishing some books and just trading them with different ones.

Quite often I have six books on my side table, three being read, three waiting to be read. These books are interspersed with magazines, newspapers and general publications on various topics.

Im sticking to one book from now on. Its too hard to decide which one to go back to, I would probably never finish any one of them. Im going to finish Haunted House Stories, I should finish it today and go to one I found the other day, a new bio of Alexander The Great.

If youre interested i got them from horrormasters.com they have them in categories, haunted house stories, ghost stories, modern ghost stories to the classics, all for free. They have a lot of type errors but they are still good.

Yes, I do that all the time. It is rare for me to only have one book going at the same time. I also alternate between series, rather than just reading one series straight through (This is particularly true if those series are unfinished, because then I have no reason to rush since I have to wait for the next book anyways, haha).

I also do the whole read each book in a particular area.

I like reading more than one book at a time because then I can always have a book for wherever I happen to be. I have one at home and one in my car and sometimes I have a few more books going at the same time. I tend to get very involved in the books that I read and if I have several going at one time then I don't feel a sense of loss when one of the books I am reading comes to an end because then I always have another book going that I can keep reading.
