Kahlil Gibran says ‘Your joy can fill you only as deeply your sorrow has carved you.’ If you’ve never tasted bitterness, sweet is just another pleasant flavor on your tongue. One day I’m going to hold a lot of joy.

Love this one! The original quote was "Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead." - Benjamin Franklin

"I don't mean to lecture. You can laugh and say I'm a silly girl - but when I see anyone big pick on someone small, well, there's going to be a fight... Joren and his friends are out there looking for someone to hurt. I want to stop them."
- Keladry of Mindelan (First Test by Tamora Pierce)

I first read this series sometime in middle school. It was things like this, what Kel said and how she acted, that made me want to grow up to be someone just like her. I remember reading this and just stopping in my tracks, how powerful a message in such simple terms. When I see someone in trouble, I'm going to help. It's a guiding principle I've tried to follow in life.

"Everyone burns, as the Buddha says, in their own way. Some burn with anger, some with lust, some with the desire for vengeance, some with fear. But inside us burn many fires, not just one. We are legion, we contain a multitude."

This quote is by John Dolan from his book "Everyone Burns." I thought it was really cool when I first read it.

Empathy is when a person accurately communicates that they see another's intention and emotional state. It means watching our child's frustration and how life feels in that little child's body, while putting your own anger and agenda into the background

Whoa! I never knew that quote was originally from Ben Franklin. I looked it up to see where he said it and also got the quote from him, "If you would keep your secret from an enemy, tell it not to a friend." Guess he had a particular interest in the art of keeping secrets.

My favorite would be my signature quote on this site I am using. Aside from that, are several quotes I found from Momentum. Here are the following:
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” Vincent Van Gogh
“You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” Marcus Aurelius
“The inspiration you seek is already within you. Be silent and listen.” Rumi
“You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.” Unknown
