I go through books like groceries...so I need those paperbacks! They are just easier for me to throw in a bag, backpack, or under my arm without having to worry about damaging them. The smaller size also helps in just handling them when I'm strewn out on the floor, couch, or chair - with the book at every angle to keep my body comfortable! When I was younger, I liked the hardback books - especially those books that had beautiful, rich details. I'm don't typically re-read books, or even re-watch movies I've already seen - so it almost seems wasteful to get the hardbacks anymore.

I prefer paperback, though if I have a hardback I find it easier to mark my page, as I use the book jacket. I tend to bend my books and I worry about the spine on a hardback. In general, I find them easier to handle as I read while lounging in bed. Paperbacks are generally cheaper as well.

However, I do read more ebooks than both of those just because they would always be with me, and take up less shelf space. I grab paperbacks frequently and swap them and my local library’s community bookshelf, but I don’t read physical books as fast as ebooks. I love the smell of books that you can never get from an ebook, but for me, convenience wins.

We have a collection of paperbacks that we have collected from junior high and on. Being in our 70's I don't think we will ever read them; due to the small print. Of the classics, we could find those in Kindle books, so the font can be adjustable. Our hardcover book collections are very nice, with several Frank Lloyd Wright coffee table books. They are treasures.

Maybe I prefer paperback than hardcover. It's cheaper and easy to grab or put in the backpack.

I like both! I have a fondness for hardcover copies of old library books. I like seeing where they're from if I buy them from an online vendor. I like the way hardcover books allow me to fully open the book while reading, but paperbacks are easier to hold open in bed for long periods, lol!

I prefer hardcovers. Hardcovers are strong, look nice, and often have extras like covers and bookmarks. They make your shelf look good

Hardcover books are for longevity. I like my books to stay in good condition for a long time and, therefore, I prefer hardcover books. Sometimes it is not feasible to buy hardcover books because it isn’t cost-efficient. And not everyone can afford to buy stacks of books that are hardcover. The ones that cannot afford them can go for paperback books. Also, the ones that would give the book a reading, and don’t wish to add it to their collection for longevity can go for paperback as well. Sometimes I go for paperback books as well, especially when there is no hardcover option available or when I do not wish to store them up for a longer shelf period.

I prefer paperbacks because they're lightweight, easy to carry, and generally more affordable. While hardcovers have a sturdy build and look great on a shelf, they can be heavy and often cost more. For everyday reading and convenience, paperbacks are often the better choice.

Paperback, simply owing to the cost. But some books are best in hardcover especially the ones I will be referencing back again and again
