Two of the other comics I didn't care much for. I could keep them just because they are in near mint condition, but I feel someone else would enjoy them much more than I did. So, I'll bring them back.

I just read a story from this collection called The Kindly Magician. It's about a flawed man who becomes better and then undergoes a ritual that could give him immortality. He is told the only thing he must do is remember that all he sees and feels is a deception and to not react verbally to it. I won't spoil what happens, but suffice it to say he was unable to completely conquer his emotions.
I find it fascinating that part of his trial is to live as a woman. It is not clearly indicated, but it may be a hidden meaning, that he must acquire a fuller knowledge of human experience to become an immortal divine.
