What do you love about book stores

Post by Lkhoward »

With all the e readers now it seems more and more book stores are closing their doors. I love going to the book store I can get lost in those rows of topics for hours on end. I enjoy the peacefulness I feel when I'm in a book store.

I love that there is always something new to discover - an author I haven't read or a new book by a favorite author. There are endless possibilities and a world of adventures waiting.

I agree with what other's have said! I love the endless possibilities of a bookstore. Although I enjoy online shopping at places like Amazon, it can never replace the feeling of browsing through a bookstore for hours. I have found so many great books from bookstore browsing that I never would have thought to read otherwise.

A lot of them are so cozy and comfortable. I love the ones that make me feel like I am walking into someones personal library. Being able to quietly browse up and down the aisles without a lot of random distractions is great too. Unlike a large retail chain or a mall you know just about everyone there is there for the same reason and because of a shared interest. I have also found a few thrift stores where their book sections feel much the same way.

I don't always have enough money on me to buy a book at the time, but I still love the feel of walking into a book store and roaming. I don't ever start reading one unless I can afford to purchase it, because to me that would be a type of sacrilege, but I just enjoy the feel of being amongst all of those different works.
It probably sounds silly but it's like a spiritual experience.

I feel so comfortable and at ease in a bookstore. They are quieter than most other stores, yet I've noticed that people seem to be much more friendly and talkative. Perhaps that's because us readers are all kindred spirits :)

I get so excited when I walk into a book store. I love the smell of books and the sound of pages being turned as I stroll through the aisles looking for my next book. There's something magical about being surrounded by so many different worlds and thoughts.

The cozy atmosphere and the smell of coffee are so very inviting when looking through a great book!

Book stores are like crack for me. My kids limit my exposure to them. I mean what's not to love! Every book you pick up is a new adventure waiting to happen. I read over 1000 pages per day so book stores allow me to expand my horizons on what to read. I've tried the online list but it's not the same.

I love the atmosphere, the amount of books, the possibilities in each one to explore, take an adventure, or learn, and the joy that fills my heart. I can't leave any bookstore without buying at least one. My favorite bookstore was one I went to that had a place where you could sit in front of a fireplace and read or study. It was wonderful!
