Quite a few books have made me cry, sometimes happy tears. Bridge to Terabithia was one, magical, sad and with an uplifting ending.
One of my favorites, was Will's Red Coat.

The most recent book that made me cry was Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller! I absolutely sobbed. The writing was incredible as it was linear, descriptive, and clear without being overly pretensions or flat. The storyline is bonkers as well. I knew the ending going in, as I knew the myth of Achilles but I still wasn't prepared for the emotional gut punch! I don't think I've fully recovered yet, and I read it a few months ago.

I cried really hard at Tennyson’s Enoch Arden. It was my first Tennyson poem, and I was not expecting to get pulled into the story so much, or to cry so hard! It really got me.

I couldn't hold back my tears when I was reading Soul Seeker by Kaylin McFarren. The dark demon tricked Ben Poe into shooting his only son and now he has to spend his life in prison.

Recently it has been book 2 of the Nightlord Series. The death of Tamara was heartwrenching.

My 4th grade class read "Where the Red Fern Grows" out loud with each student taking turns reading. I remember vividly that I was the only one bawling under my desk at the end of the novel. When kids began to snicker and stare, my teacher defended me and stated (****spoiler alert*****) that I probably had a dog at home that I cared about. She was correct, but I think it was the intensity of the writing that made me feel so deeply that it brought me to tears. This is the first time I remember really crying from a book.

There has been a few books that have made me cry. A few that I can think of at the moment are Harry Potter and the Order of Pheonix, PS I Love You by Cecelia Ahern, The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks, and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Most recently a lot of poetry, especially if I'm listening to the audio of it and it's being read by the author will almost always get me. The way the reader voices the emotion being portrayed makes it that much more powerful. If you like spoken word poetry, here's a few I recommend: Shout by Laurie Halse Anderson, The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo, and The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur.

Not many books or movies make me cry but one that wrecked me and had me bawling was Heartless by Marissa Meyer.

Never cried at a book, not sure why since plenty of films have had me choked up. There was one that came close though, Pushing Ice by Alastair Reynolds. Something about it managed to catch me off guard, the epic scale of the concept combined with the twist at the end really got under my skin. Even now after many re-reads I can't decide what hit me the most, the human part, the awe inspiring sci-fi universe or just the selfish realisation that I will never come up with something so perfectly judged...

My first and only book which made me cry was "The Hidden Island" (I used to love sea adventure stories so I was quite pulled into it :p )

I cried while reading The Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. It's my favorite book so far until this day. Also really loved the Harry Potter series, so I got emotional reading the last book as well.

The one book that got me crying so hard was "Daughter of fortune" by Carla Kelly. Even if I read it so when I was pretty younger, I still remebered, vividly all the part that got me crying, the names of the characters, the book and the name of the author. It's a good historical romance and I always went back to reading it again and again.

The novel as well as the mini television series of "Roots" by Alex Haley also made me.cry alot.

Impossible Odds had me in tears to the point my roommate asked me if I was okay.
