I have cried several times while reading a book, but the one that stands out the most to me for making me cry is Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult.

The Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor definitely made me tear up more than once when reading it for the first time. That star-crossed lovers trope gets me every time.

I cry at a lot of books, honestly. The most random one is The Latte Factor by David Bach - it's a personal finance book! But it has me sobbing into my tea every time.

I cried when I read me before you. But first time I cried reading P.S. I love you. Really touched my heart.

Its hard for me to cry while I read but the one book that made me cry so much would be A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. That book is just so heartbreaking.

I think there have probably been several instances of crying at books—I'm a crybaby that's especially quick to cry during movies, most recently during Spiderman: No Way Home; if you've seen it, you know what I mean—but I distinctly remember making a scene on an exercise bike at the gym when the fate of clones is revealed in David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas. I remember an involuntary gasp of surprise, tears, and a pretty lady on the machine next to me looking at me like what the hell is wrong with this guy?.

Also, I squalled at the end of Cormac McCarthy's Border Trilogy. I was glad to be reading in the relative security of my home, and I don't think my kids saw me that time, although they call me a wimp because I've cried so many other times during movies, memorial day, veteran's day, and church services.

Most recently, I cried reading a psychotherapy book. I just felt so understood. Other than that, I don't really remember...

Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks and To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee. Both make me cry each time I read them.

I cry at books if they are well-written and pull at the emotions. I find it hard not to. But these two will always make me cry.

Several books made me cry but I think books by Khaled Hosseini like 'The Kite Runner' and 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' are really overwhelming.

Yes, the current book I am reading is Apotheosis Now. It shattered my self-image and had me crying so much inside that I cannot find the energy to weep with tears anymore.

I can't ever recall crying while reading a book. But the closest I've ever been was while reading Synapse by Steven James.

Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom. It incontestably has its cemented place in the pantheon of the greatest memoirs of some of the greatest men history has spawned.
Expanding on the apartheid days of South Africa and Nelson Mandala's 27 years in jail, Long Walk to Freedom walked me to near tears.

I cried when Dobby died in Harry Potter. I am not a very emotional person but I seemed to have developed an attachment to such brave elf and his death was heartbreaking
