It was 'Pather Pachali' in our native language or 'Song of the road' by Satyajit Ray for me.

It's been a while since I read an emotional book. But I remember that I cried my eyes out when I read No Greater Love by Danielle Steel.

Yes I've cried a lot of times over books. Kite runner, a thousand splendid suns, and mountains echoed by Khaled Hosseini. The storyteller by Jodi Picoult. Me before you by Jojo Moyes. Actually there's a very huge list.

Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult, The Storyteller also by Picoult and The Fault in Our Stars by John Green to name a few.
I love when books are so good they create a visceral reaction. Whether that be crying, swearing, shouting or simply pausing to contemplate what the hell did I just read?

I read A Dog's Purpose a while ago and it had me in tears. It was both happy and sad at the same time, and seeing the world from a dog's perspective made it more special. The ending of the Divergent series and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas made me pretty emotional as well.

Redeeming love by Francine Rivers made me bawl my eyes out, and funny enough, Fifty Shades too. I've never read Harry Potter, only watched the movies. But everyone talks more about the books, I think I should get them.

I have cried while reading books too many times to count, but the one standing out the most is an Afrikaans Historical Fiction book about the history of South Africa. It had me crying for hours on end! And another one I remember mostly because I read it recently was Sarah J Maas's Crescent City, I did not expect to get so attached to the characters, but the way she developed them was superb!

There is one classic story "The basket of Flowers" by Christopher Von Schmid that I have never forgotten. Every time I read it, I cry. But it's a wonderful book which teaches several life lessons.
