A Day No Pigs Would Die by Robert Newton Peck made me sob. I was actually Robert Newton Peck’s personal trainer in Florida.

The Light Between Oceans. Reading this book, I was constantly questioning what I would do in this situation. If you want a lively book club discussion, this touching book is the epitome of sad books that will make you cry.

The most recent book I read that made me cry was Daughters of the Dragon by William Andrews. This book was so heart-wrenching because it tells the tale of a Korean woman forced to be a comfort woman during the Japanese occupation. A real eye-opening read that teaches about a moment in history that is truly sad.

I have actually never read a book that made me cry. But reading all the other answers actually made me have FOMO.

This is interesting because now I can't think of any books that used to make me cry. I usually remember vividly those books with sad endings. And I can also easily list numerous books that make me laugh. But for crying, well, I'll definitely try some books mentioned here.

The Little Prince... every single time.

The relationship between the Prince and his vain Rose flower tears me apart.
Also the line "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.” To me, it applies to so many facets of life, not just domesticated pets.

The book, The Prodigy Slave made me close to tears. It was an emotional one.

The last Harry Potter book made me cry too, as did the ending of Prisoner Of Azkaban. Also, Fourth Wing,

Another old forum, I find myself coming across these nowadays. And I absolutely adore these!
I have cried at many books, but there was this one that I bawled my eyes out at. The author only posted the story online with plans of taking it traditional, but I do not think they went around to doing that.
A shame, as I can't find the book and so many missed the chance to experience the same themselves.

Has this ever happened to you? Couldn't find or remember the name of a book or author that took you on an emotional adventure?

Honestly, I’ve read too many tear-jerkers over my life so far. But I’ve honestly enjoyed each of them. Almost all of Nicholas Sparks books will make me cry at one point - tears of happiness and also sadness.
My all-time favorite book, Where the Red Ferns Grows by Wilson Rawls still makes me cry tears of joy, laughter and sadness at the end.

I don’t remember a single book that has made me cry but I know that one or two have. It’s probably a Nicholas Sparks books, or maybe a Karen Kingsbury book.

I read Pack up the Moon by Kristin Higgins a few months ago. I cried nonstop while reading the whole book. It was so sad. It was a really good book, especially to bring out that intense emotion. My local library does author meet and greets every month. Kristin Higgins is a regular at the meet and greets so I love hearing the back stories of her novels.

Fool’s Errand by Robin Hobb. If you read this fantasy without, with truly unsurpassable talent, you will know exactly what I’m talking about.

I have lost count of all the books that made me cry. I'm very emotional and I cry almost every time I read a book.
