The first book that ever made me cry as a second grader and still makes me cry to this day is "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls.
This love story of a young boy and his first pups, shares all the fun stories of being playful and hunting with his pups through the end of his puppy's lives and pulls right at my heartstrings. When I first read the book, I had not yet experienced the love a dog can truly bring into your life - I had only witnessed it through close friends and movies. It wasn't until I read the book again when our family got our first puppy when I was 18 and in college. A pup's love can truly radiate throughout their home and this book paints that picture perfectly in the Ozark Mountains.

I'm a big fan of mythology. I knew the ending. I saw it coming. So tell me, why did it still rip my heart apart?
And many a other.
*side note for all the beautiful Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, etc. fanfictions that have had me in tears*
