I very much like the idea of listening to an audio book while waiting for sleep to come- however if you have a significant other who sleeps within close range of your CD, he or she may have something to say about it. You could try headphones? If you are a stay-at-home mom, you can put the CD on while cleaning, or listen to headphones on the couch while the little ones are watching the television so you can still see what they are doing. If you work, you could read for an hour on your lunch break. While I was working at the humane society, I was reading a book that I literally could not put down... So much so, that I would sneak into the closet to read a page inbetween disinfecting cages. Terrible, I know!

I have all the time in the world to read since I still live at home with my parents, and I have a job that allows you to read at work when you aren't busy. On slow days I can get well over 100 pages read. During weekends (which are our slowest times), I can get about halfway through a book in one day. I'm glad they allow this because staring at the walls of your cubicle all day would drive me to madness!

I also read whole in the bathroom, whether it be taking care of business or having a bath. :P
I also like to read before I go to bed. It helps relax me.

Before bed and in the bathroom for me. Takes me a while to get through a book, unless it is really exciting.

For me, time is also a problem. Between school work and other engagements. I try to find time in the night for some quiet reading.

It depends on how busy I am during the day, but most times, I read at night.

I like reading early in the morning when my mind is fresh or when I find free time to read.

Now I have a reading schedule defined. But before I would wait until the desire for a book hit me.

joafech wrote: 30 Sep 2009, 20:11 I was wondering when people find time to read. I ask because I am the mother of two small children and the only time I have to read is either when I'm riding in a car, or after my kids are asleep and by then I am so exhausted, I can't get through one page. I don't think there is a solution for my particular situation and I'll just have to put most of my reading on hold for now. But I keep seeing all these great books to read and it is hard!
Wow! That's tough.
I am single , so I don't know if I will still get time to read after having kids. But now, I read all the time- in the morning, before bed, while working during the day, while eating, etc.

Usually at night. I give it to myself as a reward after accomplishing my tasks for the day.

I usually read at night, in bed. As this is the time when I feel most calm and am not busy.

I normally read at night, right before going to bed. Probably got into this habit when I was a single parent of 3 all under the age of 8. Now many years later as a grandparent and great grandparent I will maintain this habit.
