The last book I read and annotated was the book "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and I'll give it a 5/5 rating.

Finished " Strong Poison" (Lord Peter Wimsey #5) by Dorothy L. Sayers and loved it! 5/5 stars.

"Beyond the Higher Ground" by Thomas A. Brigger. Rated it 3/5 because much of the book had a somber mood that was kind of contagious.

Anne of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery was my first book for 2023 and an utter delight, as was it's predecessor, Anne of Green Gables. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars and am looking forward to the third book in the series.

The last book I read was "The Name-Bearer" by Natalia Hernandez. I gave it a 4/5. I loved the story, but it suffered from not being properly edited.

It was Jayos Xiznebi by Mikheil Javakhishvili. It is a Georgian book, witten about the ugly society and some sad truths as well. It was really interesting and well-written. I loved how the story responded to the ugly truths and highlighted their flaws. I give it a solid 10 out of 10. Sadly, I think the book is not translated into any foreign languages and can only be accessed in Georgian.

I'm a newbie. The first book I read was Resonant by Robert Leet. It was a slow burn book about a group of people who got involved in a search for the answer to the language used by humpback whales.

Although it had a good plot with interesting characters, there were quite a bit of mathematical concepts, music notes and frequency concepts. Even some physics. You can read until you get the gist to follow the story.

I rated it 4 out of 5, as I do enjoy both a slow paced story and the science (both real and speculated).

I read a biography of the author Mary Shelley, it was interesting but I leave it just at that, so the score... 6/10.

I just finished reading Toxic Side Effect by Sandy Magner and rated it a 5 out of 5. It is a mystery book but had other aspects to it that made it fun to read. Read it in a day because I could not put it down. Its the second in the series so I am now going to go and read the first one from this new author.

Just finished reading East Wind by Jack Winnick :)

I was blown away! I didn't know what to expect from this book, so my expectations going in were pretty low. This book is definitely not for everyone, but as someone who has studied terrorism, even this group in particular, I loved the insight it gave to not only the heroes thoughts and emotions, but the
villains as well.

I would absolutely recommend this book and give East Wind a 5 out of 5 stars :)
