I have ADHD. One of the downsides is that I can get really worked up in daily life, but one of the upsides is that I have a rich imagination. Reading is an escape for me. I can get totally immersed in a whole new world and leave my problems - without the use of substances and other destructive habits. I love learning and connecting with people and travelling - it allows me to do all of this whenever and wherever I want.

I like reading because it feels like being transported to another universe and that's an awesome feeling for me.

Also, it helps my grammar and I learn new words.

And lastly, to learn new things. I don't have the luxury of traveling so reading a book can tell me more about a particular country or culture.

Reading helps me relax, and imagine as well as still helps me kill time and boredom. Especially when I have to wait up for hours

Just like everyother person, reading is an escape from reality for me. Also, I feel really good about myself when I learn new things from a book I read.

I think the answer to this question depends on what I am reading. At times I am reading in order to learn something new and at other times I am reading to be entertained or to relax. In general I think that reading provides a new lens through which to see the world.

I like reading because it's an escape, mostly. I also like good stories. There's something about a well told story that captures my attention.

Reading calms me, and enables me to focus all my attention on one thing -- reading. That's why I like reading.

I like reading because it helps me learn new things. I love how I get to travel in my mind when reading a good book, I also love that I get to learn new words, and still get entertained!

It refreshes my mind and allows me to be in a mental space where I can relax and be in a different world. It is really refreshing.

Anytime I read, I feel kind of ethereal. It's this indescribable feeling where you get to divide your body into many part: some part becoming an audience to what you are reading, some part turning into a character and other times you do understand how the author think.
I love the emotions that come with every line when you read. Makes you feel important sort of

I love reading because I learn a lot from it. Reading during leisure periods also helps to ease boredom.

As an alternate life. I lose myself and get into another life. I immerse myself into the story and achieve a feel good version of myself. I learn and pick out what I think is good for me. I discard the bad. I learn other cultures and enjoy life experiences through another perspective. People say a lot in books, including what they fear to state. There are so many reasons!!

I love reading for several reasons.
Reading has helped me cope with a lot of traumas, it has granted me an escape from harsh reality, and it has taught me a lot about the world outside my world.

Reading has helped me understand people and their perspectives, it has helped in building my vocabulary, and it has granted me a lot of freedom for my imagination and created great memories in my mind.
I don't think I would survive a world without a good book.

I love reading because of the vast knowledge that it has to offer, and the ability to recognise different perspectives and chain of thoughts. The understanding of people's motives and experience in different aspects of life, and most of all it's like a different dimension akin to your imagination.
