A lot. I know they say not to judge by the cover, but I feel like it gives me an idea of the taste that the author has and therefore if I think they have good taste I am most likely going to enjoy the book.

I think I'd say it's usually 50/50 between the title and the cover page in terms of whether or not I'd pick up a book to look at. That being said, if a cover page is particularly ugly it will definitely negatively influence my choice to buy it.

It has some influence over my pick. A good book cover shows the author put time and effort into the book.

Very much so. Covers with the brightest colors, I tend to go after due to the fact I can easily see them. I will say I have yet to find a book who's cover I see, I did not wish to read.

Its good to consider inside of something before thinking of outside, because the content is what we need not shiny covers.

Not that much in all honesty, but a unique one would definitely make me pick it up.

I always try to give books with bad covers a chance, but I've mostly been dissapointed. The 7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a great book with an ok cover, though it's mostly uninteresting, as opposed to bad. But books with really great covers always make me want to at least check out what are they about.

When you are reading a book online I will think that the cover page only matters like 40% but if you are purchasing a book from our store. The book cover matters like almost 90% because it is the only thing we're seeing in a book store but if you are reading a book online then we can read a review of the book and we can read a little description of that book so I think that cover page matters according to the situation.

Not a whole heck of a lot in and of itself, but taken together with the rest of the evidence of the book it is certainly an important factor.

Honestly, I have bought books of authors I do not know because I was drawn to or loved the cover and title. Of course I would usually first read the summary to see if it sounds like something I would enjoy, but the cover has in fact sold me on picking books. I know we should not judge a book by its cover, but giving it a chance because of the cover isn't necessarily wrong, right?

A good cover page compels me to pick up a particular book. But if I'm interested in a book either because of a recommendation or by reading the blurb I don't usually care about the cover.

I do not normally consider what is on the cover but for a book to catch my eye it has to have an inviting and thoughtful title. That's what I look for and yes the blurb at the back cover is the first thing I read in a new book.
