I usually read two books at a time, one to read at home, and the other I read in the car, though the book I read in the car takes a while to read.

Depends on the mood I'm in. Might just be one, could be up to 5 at the same time.

Reading plus one books in same time/night space affirms both the importance and significance of reading experiences. Singletons are cool. But switching says something about how deeply reading connects to our moods and outlooks - in a good way. Reading is really like dreaming in pleasant slow motion.

I usually read two books at a time, one for fun and one for school.

I am currently ready a few books.

I have one one the go about writer's experiences and humiliations. (Mortification edited by Robin Robertson - paperback), another one about assisting your creative writing juices (Creativity Rules by John Vorhaus - paperback), another onn writing (Writing the Paranormal Novel by Steven Harper - ebook), a fiction tradeback (A Ghost of a Chance by Minnette Meador) also another fiction (Deja Dead by Kathy Reiches) and finally rereading a fiction novel I read last year (Guardian of the Night by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom).

So yup, I read more than one at a time. I probably have more started I've forgotten about.

I don't read two fiction books together. I usually read one fiction and one non-fiction. Or two non-fiction

I tend to focus on one or two books at a time but also subscribe to a few weeklys as well

I can't read more than one book at a time. I tried it once and I felt like I was neglecting my books.

I regularly seem to end up having several books on the go at one time ... not sure why, but it seems to always happen that way

While I am a fairly fast reader I was always a one book at a time reader but of late I have discovered that I can read up to 3 books simultaneously without any difficulty with confusion or concentration. I don't know if this is a recent brain modification or if I could always do it just didn't try!
Must run a test to see if I can go beyone 3

I can read more than one at a time, but prefer to read only one fictional book at a time concentrating on both plots takes a lot of the fun out of it for me.

I usually just read one book at a time. I just can't concentrate on multiple books. I don't understand how others do it, haha! The only reason I read more than one is if I'm reading some sort of bind up. For instance, I started "The Complete Sherlock Holmes." Thing is: it's huge! So what I have done is read one of the novels, then I stop and read another book. Then I go back to "Sherlock Holmes," read another set of short stories or a novel. I just keep going back and forth between "Sherlock Holmes" and other books since "Sherlock Holmes" is so time consuming.

I recently started reading two at a time. I thought I would have trouble but so far it's smooth. I read somewhere that reading more than one can help the old brain too. Anyone else heard this?
