I used to read the book description at the back of the book before I read it, I am referring to those hard cover books. I think I will still want to read the book"s summary before I read the book, that is the first thing I usually check subconsciously.

Of course. I immediately read the book without reading the summary first. I don't like to get spoilers. If it's a synopsis, I surely read it before proceeding to the book.

No, I have to at least kind of know where the book is going or I will feel totally lost when I start it.

I like to know genre, but I don't want to know anything else before jumping in. Similarly, I try to avoid watching commercials or trailers before watching trailers.

I always read the summary.. but as a child I rememeber picking up torn books without covers. Since I could not read the summary, I just scanned through the pages to get an idea of how interesting it was.

No not ever. I would like to know what I am getting myself into and is the book worth my time and in accordance to my tastes.

Only if it was a series. Otherwise, I will always read it. You can’t judge a book by it’s cover ;)

Sometimes, I do read the summaries but most times, I dive into it directly but with the attraction of the book cover sometimes.

Yeah. If someone had recommended it or if my regular bookstore employee recommended it, I will pick up the book without a second thought. I have even picked up random books in second-hand stores or sales. Some turned out to be great reads, some not so much.

No No! it is like a "Blind date", not to read a summary and jump into the chapters.

I usually read the book description first before reading the whole book to see what the author or the publisher is also saying about the book.

I would never read a book without reading the summary first. I don't like surprises no matter what.

I read the summaries, however most of the time I choose my books by its cover, I'm sadly one of those people who 'judge' a book by is cover, lol :lol2: . If the cover isn't exciting enough but the title is, I read the summary. I've never been disappointed by choosing a book in this way luckily and I hope it stays that way

Yes. Sometimes I just pick up a book or download an ebook just because it has an interesting name or cover. I might look at the summary, but when I don't I often don't regret not doing so.
