I like getting drawn into a whole new world, but of course it needs to have compelling characters too. I also like novels that make me think.

The most important element in a fantasy novel for me is top-notch world building. I need to understand how everything fits together and how they function. If the world and systems make sense, then I am usually on board.

Fantasies are the best. They never fail to amaze. The Shadow hunter world is the best fantasy world.

I like vampire stories, and anything that keeps a human aspect. I lose interest if the book only has new worlds and new creatures that I can't relate to. I also like some humor in books.

I'm always a sucker for dragons in fantasy novels. I also like seeing the author create his/her own world and being entirely original with their characters. And it's always a plus if the author makes up their own language to use for one of the races in the book.

I love to read books that have a rich history. My favourite books are by Raymond E. Feist.
The characters in his books, of which there are more than 15, are all connected through generations.
The history and lore goes back thousands of years. It makes it fascinating and believable on a whole other level!
