I almost feel guilty I didn’t enjoy them when people rave about that, but they just were NOT for me. So I’m curious if that ever happens to anyone else?

This is good to know! That's on my TBR list. There haven't been many books I've felt like that about recently, but one in particular for me was The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley. I had been so eager to read the book and when I finally did, I was unimpressed. I didn't like any of the characters and couldn't get into the plot. It's very strange to see the book around and think about how much it wasn't a good match for me, but to have it be so popular overall.Zu Kote wrote: ↑06 May 2025, 09:58 I totally get where you're coming from. For me, it was The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Everyone was raving about how profound and life-changing it was, but it just didn’t resonate with me the way I hoped. I found the themes a bit repetitive and the narrative predictable. It’s always a strange feeling when a massively popular book just doesn’t click personally. Glad I’m not the only one!
