It was a children's tale book about a monkey tamed to be a member of a family. I was too young. I don't remember what it's title was.

I took a long hiatus from reading between the ages of 16-22 but the book that got me back into reading was Woom by Duncan Ralston. Woom is an extreme horror novel about a man who is retelling his life to a prostitute and reliving the traumatic incidents in his life. He seeks to heal and will do anything to be reborn.

Wow blast from the past, I remember checking this book out of my school library so many times because I loved it so much.

While I don't remember the very first book I read, I'm sure the very first stories I read were fairy tales. Jack and the Beanstalk, The Brave Little Tailor, The Golden Bird, Cap-o'-Rushes, The Little Mermaid.... All these form my earliest memories of reading.
Just an average book-lover bumbling through life :tiphat:
