Post by zombie_chinchilla »

(I apologize beforehand if this doesn't belong here or if there's already a thread like this. Newb here. :P)

So if you're like, you have a loooooong list of the books you want to read, but haven't yet. I hold mine in my wallet so I have it when I go to the library.

- Someone Named Eva
- The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
- The Godfather
- Cat's Cradle
- Salem's Lot
- Chains
- Brave Story
- Tomorrow When the War Began
- Grace
- A Wrinkle In Time
- The Uglies
- The Secret History of Moscow
- 1984
- Watership Down
- A Thousand Splendid Suns
- Water for Elephants
- The Alchemist
- The Secret Life of Bees

And that's all I have right now. :]

That's a great list of books! I'm planning to read some of them too, namely:

1. Salem's Lot (own the book but never got around to reading it :P)
2. The Uglies (own the first book in the series)
3. A Thousand Splendid Suns (don't own it - need to borrow it! Although I had a friend recount the entire story for me :P)
4. Water for Elephants (same as above)

I've read The Secret Life of Bees - it's a pretty good read! :)

It's nice that you have an actual physical list - I need to make one too!

The books in my immediate tbr:

1. The 6th and 7th books of the Harry Potter series
2. About a Boy by Nick Hornby
3. Chain Letter by Christopher Pike
4. Midnight is a Place by Joan Aiken
5. Atonement by Ian McEwan
6. Pretty Monsters by Kelly Link

...and the list goes on...

i have read A Thousand Splendid Suns. It was awesome. I also read his other book that goes with it. I loved The Secret Life of Bees, but didn't like the movie. I have this really weird habit of keep a notebook and writing in titles of books i want to read. I have it almost half way filled. :) .
  • The Indifferent stars Above
    Now and Then
    In the Kitchen
    Outcast
    The Alex Cross series
    The Shadow of the Wind
    Girl in a Blue Dress
and the list goes on

The entire contents of Barnes and Noble. (Save for the Self-Help section.)

I don't really think in terms of which book to read next, for me it's which genre to read next! I'm far too eclectic.

Right now, on my "to read" list is The Colorado Kid by Stephen King and pretty much everything Christopher Moore has written (I read Island of the Sequined Love Nun and just fell in love with him!). Luckily, my local library has pretty much everything on my list, otherwise I'd go broke right now. lol

Your library doesn't have any books by Stephen King? That's strange. I suppose some places, particularly the "Bible Belt" can be funny about what books are sold where. My friend used to live near Abilene and she said they were very strict on the "inappropriateness" of some books or places that sold those books.
