I love me some thick tomes. They always catch my attention. Especially as a lover of fantasy those chunkier books make me expect some rich worldbuilding and complex story. A Song of Ice and Fire is probably my most favorite series.

Yes, it does. My maximum limit is about 700-800 pages.

When it comes to a catchy read, you get lost along the pages, so long or not, it doesn't really count for me.

Long books sometimes puts me off if it has a slow start. That way the book's length becomes obvious because you'll have to read several pages before you get to the point of action. But if the book is fast paced, I wouldn't mind.

I really don't care how long it is. If the author succeeds in keeping me hooked, I'll keep reading. The game of thrones books did that for me

One of my favorite reading challenges every year is March of the mammoths; with this challenge, you need to read a book of 800 Pages or more in length within the month. So long books don't put me off, in fact, they encourage me. I get a sense of accomplishment from reading a long well written book.

I find that I am drawn more to long books as I love the challenge of finishing them. War and Peace is one of the longest books I have read and, even though it took me a couple of months to get through, I absolutely loved it. It is a fantastic novel and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves classic novels or historical fiction. I think people are put off by the length of it and the style of writing but you soon get into your stride. I found it a lot easier to read than Anna Karenina as it was surprisingly less political.

Long books do not scare me as long as the plot flows well. For instance, I recently read a dream for peace with more than 500 pages, but I enjoyed every bit of it.

It depends on the theme of the book. Once I like the theme, I try to finish the book no matter how long it is.

No, never. I can read long books. That's preparation for law school if anything.

I don't mind long books and avoid very short books. I would say the longer a book is the better the writing will have to be to hold my interest.

I've started Joyce's "Ulysses" but I've never finished. I've considered breaking it into fifty page chunks and reading it backwards.

Yes I'm intimidated to read a book that's 500+ pages except Harry Potter. Even if an HP book is 1K+ or 2K+, I would dedicate my whole week for it

I actually like long books especially if it is one I just don’t want to end. The only time I might put off reading a long book is if it does not sound appealing to me.

No if anything long books make me want to read more. If it's a really good book I like them longer because I don't want them to end.
