Since having a family, I struggle to read in bed at night. I'm too tired and can’t seem to stay awake. I fall asleep after a couple of paragraphs. I was hardly reading at all.
I started consciously making time to read at other times of the day. Now, I sometimes wake up earlier than I need to and read in bed in the morning before I get up. Other times I find quiet moments while I am having a coffee break to read for a bit. Having changed my habits, I'm reading a lot more. I make much better progress through books now that I am reading while I am actually awake! That makes me much happier.
