I have a couple that spring to mind, The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption are great but I would also include Jaws!.....a classic.

All Stephen King Novels Pretty Much. (Except for a few.)

The Outsiders. (The movie is breath-taking, the book is amazing.)

The Warriors. (Absolutely astounding, the movie is my favourite film of all time.)

Lord of the Rings is one of the best, as is The Dead Zone, Macbeth, the Kenneth Brannagh version, and The Car. Altho I think they wrote the book from the movie on that one. Its still a great movie, tho.

I would have to say either "Fight Club" or "The Last of the Mohicans", I cannot decide between the two.

Probably Dr Zhivago but Lord of the Rings has to be a close second

Did they make a movie from that? I liked the book. I remember Huckleberry Finn with Mickey Rooney, that was a good one too.
