A few others are Jurassic Park, The Shining (the old movie), and Carrie (the new movie).
Also I'm currently reading Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. I'm a big fan of the movie and so far the book is great.

One of my favorite books is War of the Worlds. The 1954 version was the best, it didnt follow the original story too closely but it was still a terrifying movie. The Tom Cruise version was kind of mediocre, not much to it.
