It doesn’t matter to me. As long as the book is keeping me interested throughout reading.

It doesn't matter, as long as I like the book. However, if I were looking for a subject matter that is female-specific, I would actively look for a female author, and vice-versa.
Today's me is better than yesterday's me.

I don't have a preference. I enjoy both male and female authors. As long as they have a keen mind and their writing pulls me into the book, I'm sold.

I don't think it really matters to me, I simply read what I like. However, I find that I prefer mysteries and thrillers written by male authors ! And for everything else, I tend to lean towards female authors.

I actually don't have any gender preferences. I chose a book based on the message it conveys, not on the person who wrote it.

I don't really care. I read books that interest me no matter the gender of the author. With certain names, I might not even be sure what gender they are and a few times I actually assumed the wrong gender from the name.

Actually, I was surprised recently when I made BookSirens account and received my Goodreads statistics. The male/female ratio of my read books is exactly 50/50

If you ask people to name some of the greatest authors or books of all time, most of them will be men, especially in genres like fantasy or science fiction. Because of that I try to read 70% female authors and 30% men.

I tend to prefer a female author. Though as long as the book is good, the gender doesn't matter. But since most of the books I have are written by females maybe subconsciously I prefer them :)

Well I don't have any strong choice for male or female author. If writer is good and book is good, it is enough for me to choose writer.

I do not seek out one or the other but simply read what my heart enjoys.

I don't really mind, some of my favorite books are from male authors and others are from female. I think there is not much difference nowadays.

I don't care about the author's gender, I care about the content; a great storyline and amazing narration is all that matters to me.
