I don't really care. I think I read books by female authors more often though...not intentionally.

I'm not sure if I prefer one over the other, but I'd go with female. I relate to them more because I AM a female, and I think their writing style is more to my own.

I actively avoid sexist authors of either gender.
Seriously?
This question, it's very existence, is disturbing.

I like both but because I like Romantic Suspense, I read a lot more books by female authors.

Being a female myself I personally prefer female authors because no one can write a female heroin better than a female right? However I was made to eat my words when I read Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin...

It does not bother me as long it's a good book I'd never not read a book due it being one sex or the other putting pen to paper

I don't seem to bother about the author's gender as long as the book catches my interest.

Genre does not define quality of and author.
I couldnt decide between a male or a female author, but i could decide about a good and captivating book ;)

I do tend to read more books by female authors, but honestly I don't think it matters. So long as the writing is good and I enjoy the book!

I've probably read about a 50:50 male to female author ratio. I've never noticed liking one gender's writing over the other's.

Woaaaaah, the vote is exactly 50/50! I personally don't mind, as long as it's a well written book, I shouldn't have any problems.

I also do not judge or truly care what author's gender is if the story is good.

I never thought of this before, now that I am though I really don't think I could pick. There are so many books I love that are written by females and so many that have been written by males.

I have no preference. I read books by female and male authors.
