I have found good books written by both male and female and I read both kinds of books.

This is such a great question. I find myself drawn mostly to female authors. I find that I can relate more to female authors. It seems as though some men can mistakenly objectify women in very negative ways. It could be sexual or stereotypical. However, that is not saying that men are not great authors. I just prefer those that take into consideration that both men and women will be reading the book and write accordingly. For instance I am in the process of reviewing a book in which the B word is used quite often. Also, women are being demeaned in horrible ways. The book is really good otherwise. It's just that It would be more appealing to more women if such terms were not used.

I must say though, that there are men authors who I enjoy reading just as much as I do women authors. I find that I have this issue more with contemporary authors.

I prefer female writers because I they seem to write more descriptive books that make connections to the readers. Then again, there are also some very good male authors. I think it's less about who the author is, and more about how they connect to you as a reader.

Depends on what kind of book you are reading but most of the books I read are female.

I definitely prefer female authors. They have more female characters, which I'm interested in reading, and they seem to put more effort into their characterization.

I don't really look that much at the author's gender. If the book slaps it slaps! Some books are just well written and others aren't. That's how I look at it.

I prefer both. I never choose a book on the basis of gender of the author.

Honestly, I do not have a preference. I have favorites from both genres. Robert Jordan and Trudi Cavanan are my two favorite authors.

If you are talented and have good topics, why would I want to worry about your gender. As long as the book is nice, I am very happy.

Women are generally emotional beings and when they write they release a full dose of these emotions into their writing. When I read a female authored book, I tend to sense the sheer passion in print. I prefer female authors

If a story is good it doesn't really matter who wrote it. As long as I can enjoy a story, that's fine with me.

I don't have a preference if I am being honest. The author comes to me after I am done reading the book. Most times I only think about the author if a book is really good so I can check out more works the author has done.

In writing, there is no discrimination. I prefer both of them.
