It was my father who encouraged me to read and we used to talk about a book we both read. When I became a parent myself, I encouraged my children to read as well, so now, we talk about the books we all read and aside from it being a bonding time it's a learning experience which makes me closer to my kids and they to me.

I usually like to wait a little bit so that i have time to mull it over. I like to recommend it to a friend, and then discuss it when they finish

I always have to discuss a book after I read it. Thankfully my coworker is into reading as much as me so we usually read the same books and discuss them. Or if we are reading different books we talk about it to each other and see if it is a book the other would like to read.

Depends on the book really. Sometimes the book has a simple ending of happily living ever after. But books like Gone Girl where people get really mad about the ending needs to be discussed.

Sometimes I will discuss a book with others. Especially if it is something that has an interpretive quality to it. Recently I got into a discussion with several people about the Harper Lee book Go Set a Watchman, it was quite interesting as we all had slightly different takes on it.

Honestly, it depends on the book. I read and review books for two of our library's website so I discuss them through written blogs. Other books I might verbally discuss them with friends and family. Finally, I may not want to discuss the book I just finished with anyone.

I love it. It's one of the reasons I joined the book club. It's great hearing how other people felt about the story line and characters. Also some pock up on different details that you may have overlooked. Especially good in conspiracy books :)

I like to get peoples input but no one I know IRL reads. I made my husband read one of the more gruesome short stories because I had a WTF reaction and wanted to see what someone else would think.

I don't have a problem discussing a book after I've read it or while reading if I'm lucky to find someone that has read it and is willing to discuss it.

I don't discuss them but if I find the opportunity, I would.

Yes, absolutely! I love talking about the books I read: what I liked, what I didn't, if I predicted the ending, my favorite characters. If I know someone who read the books I will talk to them, and if I don't then I usually make someone close to me (usually my cousin who also loves books) read them so later I can discuss it with them.

I usually do. Sometimes I have so much to say about the book that I have to talk about it with someone and say something just so I can calm down and get it all out, but I usually just explain the parts of the book that had me the most excited to someone who has either read the book or someone who won't ever read the book
