I read horror, some sci-fi and non-fiction, mostly history.

I will quite literally read anything if it is enjoyable, but my favourite genre by a country mile is Historical Fiction. I also believe it is one of the hardest genres to write. Of course the author wants to get all his facts right, and sometimes researching takes an incredible amount of time and work.

A bit of everything. I lean toward less mainstream novels, written by lower profile authors with higher quality.

Horror is about the only genre I can't see the attraction in & I'm well past the vampires and zombie stage but other than that I will read just about anything.

I like the old tradional ghost and haunted house and psychological horror stories but Im with you, Fran. Zombies and vampires were never my thing, either. The only good vampire stores in my opinion were Dracula and Carmilla. And most zombie stories are just plain stupid.

Zombies are more comic horror in my opinion and vampires never really did it for me. The current vampire craze in the Twilight movies really go over my head and you couldnt pay me enough to watch them, complete rubbish. Im with Bighuey on the slow-build haunted house and psychological horrors that creep right under your skin. Love them.

^ yup that's the kind of horror I'm currently into. I love a good psychologically twisted scenario - is it all in their heads? are they crazy/schizophrenic etc? and a good ghost story. Zombies just make me laugh and vampires nowadays are getting ridiculous.
