Jennifer Cowhig wrote: 24 Mar 2024, 07:37 Hi guys! I got a bunch of bananas and was wondering if anyone is willing to share there favorite recipes using bananas. I've made banana bread and banana cupcakes, but I was wondering what else could be made using bananas. I've been thinking of trying to make banana cream pie but that seems complicated. Anyone willing to share any recipes? Beginner friendly is a plus, but delicious is a must.

Here is the banana cupcake recipe, they are delicious and easy, even if I struggled a bit making the frosting: ABEB61E1-D49E-4C44-BC82-CFEB009F4E44.jpeg
Thanks for the recipe Jennifer

My favorite recipe using banana is the banana smoothie with groundnuts. They are both blended together to give a savory taste.

Slice bananas, dip them in melted chocolate, and freeze, and you have frozen banana bites. You can also use strawberries if you have lots of them in the house

I make smoothies and so I buy a 6-7 bunch and peel them and put them in a big baggie in the fridge. You have to be sure to squeeze out the air. I tried a Rubbermaid box, but I was afraid the lid would crack, they are not for freezing. And the bananas went dark, and stuck together, due to the air. I don't know for sure, but you could probably blend your moist items in the blender with frozen bananas, broke in 2 pcs. That would be a lot nicer for banana bread to have frozen bananas available in the fridge.

I love melting chocolate and making bananas into little circles. I then cover the bananas in the melted chocolate and freeze for at least an hour for a good snack.

My favorite recipe using bananas is bananas and peanut butter with some marshmallow fluff. I have as little bite sized pieces and it’s my favorite.

I like to make mango smoothies. I put two parts mango and one part coconut milk. It is smooth and delicious. It is always cold.

The only way I use bananas other than on its own, it is banana cake. It is a good way not to throw them away when they are too ripe.

I do not know if this is smoothie or not but here goes. I blend 2 ripe bananas, oats, some non-dairy milk, one apple peeled and sliced, vanilla, and nutmeg. I sometimes add some berries or any other fruit such as peach and peanut butter to vary the taste. I usually have this for my breakfast.

However, my absolute favorite recipe using bananas is banana bread, no chocolate chips or any of the fancy add-ons. Just plain, moist delicious banana bread.

I am obsessed with banana “nice” cream. Peel, slice, and freeze as many bananas as you want. Once frozen, blend them with your choice of milk. Feel free to add in peanut butter, cocoa powder, maple syrup, pumpkin purée, any of these combined, or whatever else you’re craving! I don’t have any specific measurements for you because I just eyeball it. You can make it as thick or thin as you want! I personally like to make a thick, soft serve texture.

"Nice cream" is the best! In the summer I often have it for lunch. Like you, I don't measure the ingredients precisely. I just know from my experience of making MANY batches of "nice cream" how much of each ingredient to put in blender. If you're craving chocolate ice cream but want a healthier snack, nothing beats a bowl of chocolate "nice cream" with cacao powder, dates, peanut or almond butter or fresh raw pecans, frozen blueberries, strawberries, cherries, pinch of sea salt and a little protein power. Or with a little added water this makes a great shake too! Yum!

This sounds delicious! I love making smoothies and have made ice-cream before ( with cottage cheese and peanut butter as well as just milk/salt/ice in a bag) Have to try your recipe sometime!!

My favorite recipe using bananas are the milkshake. You add banana and blend it, then you add groundnuts then you add milk. It is so good that forget about alcohol.
