The best meal we ever made was prime rib with sautéed mushrooms and au jus, broccoli with hollandaise sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and warm sourdough rolls. My family worked together to make it, and then we enjoyed it thoroughly!

My best meal was 2 years ago. Even though my wife (married to her for 33 years so she should know) calls me the mad scientist of the kitchen, I actually made a meal that she and my adult children have been pestering me to redo more often than I have the funds for. Here it is:

Main Dish: Beer Braised Pork Chops smothered in a light buttery garlic sauce.
Sides: Twice baked potatoes garnished with fresh crumbled bacon, Mushroom Caps in red wine sauce, rice boiled in chicken soup along with home made bread.
Dessert: Crustless Pumpkin Pie, Home made whipped cream, home made hot cocoa with a light flavoring of mint extract.

This wasn't for any occasion. I just felt crazy that day and wanted to whip up something different. It made the family happy. I'm good with that. :)

Fried rice with lots of onions, sunny side up egg, slice of meat, hot coffee. I feel like being health conscious

I am still a teen so I don't do much. I love making mchadi tho, they are made with corn flour and water, cooked in oil. They are the best.

Other than Thanksgiving with turkey and all the wonderful dishes, I would say prime rib dinner. We found an easy recipe and it was delicious. You sear the meat and there is a rub on the top of it. Then you cook it in the oven at a low temperature. The first failed recipe resulted in smoke filling the kitchen, and I'm not sure how it happened.

The most memorable dinner was when I walked around the table with mashed potatoes in a bowl and I tripped and fell and there were mashed potatoes on the ceiling!!!

The one favorite that my mother made and that I make is goulash. I think that is a common meal for people but to me, it is a comfort food.

The Hawaiian dinner rolls are a hit for lots of ideas. I found a recipe that is a mock prime rib mini sandwich that you dip in au jus. You can make a whole pan of them, it is yummy. I think it is the new church sandwiches for funerals, etc too, LOL.

I've become pretty comfortable with making buffalo wings over the years. I tend to dry them out in the refrigerator, and I'll coat them with flour. Then I'll toss them in a dry rub, grill them, then toss them in some barbeque sauce. They come out better than at a restaurant!
I am an avid reader. I typically read 1-2 books per week. I enjoy a wide array of genres including Sci Fi, Action/Thriller, and Historical Fiction.

As a geologist and christian, I also particularly enjoy books on science and faith.
