Cooking is more or less a family business for us. We own a restaurant and my siblings and I, grew up helping out. We all learned how to cook right from an early age

That sounds like such a special way to learn how to cook. Cooking with family creates some of the best memories. Your grandparents must love it when you surprise them with meals, especially your lasagna. What’s your secret to making a delicious lasagna without all the noodles? :eusa-think:

I learned to cook at a very young age by watching my mother cook. She made most of the meals for my family and often let me help her. I always enjoyed cooking and baking, and it seemed almost instinctive to me. I still enjoy cooking. I do use recipes but sometimes I just use them for ideas and inspiration or to get a general idea of how to put things together.

I was one of the older siblings. Growing up, you have to care for the younger ones. For every child, you have to sit with the older siblings and learn it. I learnt it this way. Nowadays, most of the things are through trial and error. I cook almost everything at this age.

I inherited a few old cookbooks. My grandmother loved scrapbooks and there are several that are all recipes from the magazines, probably McCall's and Good Housekeeping. Her masterpiece was a Waldorf salad with red apple, cheddar cheese, grapes, mini marshmallows, banana, pineapple, and walnuts whipped with Miracle Whip. My other grandmother probably never used a cookbook, she was a wonderful cook. Graham cracker pie was her masterpiece with toasted meringue. She never made just one pie. Everything was a big production, and every family left her hour with lots of goodies from her kitchen

At a very young age and I learnt from my grandmother, she normally invites me to join her in cooking whenever she is cooking. I think I became an expert at age 14

I learned by watching and taking instructions. I would say I learned by watching everyone around me from my mum and dad and my grandparents and so on. I never watched any cooking videos and learned a lot from my experiences.

I have always watched cooking shows as a child. So at a very age I was always experimenting in the kitchen. I stopped cooking as much as I got older because I hate to clean!

My mom taught me. One day, when I was around 11, she brought me into the kitchen and showed me how to cook eggs. It didn't go too well on my first attempt.

I learned from my mother and books. I have thought as well doing a short cooking course but I still have not found the time.
