The best dressing is made of 3 simple ingredients: salt, lemon juice (fresh is best), and olive oil. Mix together and enjoy.
If you have green spring onion you can also add it and blend it all together. That's even better.

A light, easy, and healthy dressing that I use on summer salads is olive oil, red wine vinegar, black pepper, and garlic salt. No measurements needed, just taste until your desired flavor.

Lesa wrote: 27 Nov 2016, 02:40 Thanks for sharing! I loved reading through these DIY dressing ideas. I don't want chemicals in my food either. My new favorite go-to homemade dressing is a honey mustard dressing I came up with. The ingredients are- real mayonnaise, mustard, honey, and olive oil. Sorry, I'm not big on measuring. I generally add the ingredients to taste. I like it sweet and tangy. If you skip the olive oil, this also makes an awesome dip for chicken strips, French fries, onion rings, etc.
Honey mustard is my favorite. I'm going to try this.

I just found some quick and easy recipes for those of you who also strive to eat healthier. I've only included two of the most common, but feel free to comment and ask for more!

Ranch Dressing: 1 tsp red wine vinegar, 1 Tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt, 1/4 tsp Worchestershire sauce, pinch of fresh chives, pinch of garlic powder, pinch of onion powder, pinch of salt and pepper

Italian Dressing: 2 tsp red wine vinegar, 2 Tbsp dill, 1 Tbsp parsley, pinch of garlic powder, pinch of oregano, pinch of basil, pinch of salt and pepper
I had no idea I could make my own dressing all by myself, thank you for this nice recipe. I will try it out and I hope it will come out good.

I make a million variations of a peanut sauce for Asian style meals. Basically just a few tsps of creamy peanut butter (the natural oil on top kind is the best), soy sauce (I like the low sodium ones for adding more flavor without making the sauce too salty, or sweet soy sauce which is much thicker and stronger in flavor), just a tiny touch of sesame oil, some garlic powder, fresh or powdered ginger and any other flavors you might want to add in to go with your dish. Mix it all up then thin it with water or milk slowly adding and mixing a tsp at a time until you like the consistency. These sauces always add a nice touch and thinned a bit more make a nice salad dressing too.

I love simple dressing and easy to fix. One of my favorite is honey, lemon and olive oil. If too acidic for you tou can add mayo to melow it down. For Asian dressing I love the combination of sesame oil, balsamic vinegar, a hint of garlic powder and onion powder. Easy to make but taste great! 😉

This sounds yummy :tiphat:
