Water, water everywhere! I keep my tall thermos sippy cup filled with icewater when I read. Keeps me hydrated and mentally more alert.

Personally I prefer lemon zinger tea with a wedge of lemon and several sugars. If I run out then I usually drink water.

Depending on the book I'm reading, I barely even have a moment to think of a beverage. If its a particularly gripping story line I can go for hours with nil per mouth!

I agree with csimmons032! It absolutely depends on the season, and I think my beverage also depends on my environment. If I'm reading indoors, especially in public places, I tend to go for a hot coffee. However, reading in bed calls for tea (especially when it's a rainy day!) Considering the fact that I have a book with me just about wherever I go, my beverage preference changes frequently, because it depends on where and when I am.

I find that hot tea works better for me any time. An occasional cup of coffee especially early in the morning like 4am would do too.

I like to curl up and get cozy while reading so I like a hot drink. I am not a tea or coffee drinker but I love a good hot chocolate.

I like to drink hot tea if it's early in the morning or late at night or if it's especially cold. I like lemonade or iced tea if it's summertime and especially if I'm reading out by the pool.

Like most of the other recent posters - coffee, tea, or hot chocolate are favorites for reading. Writing, however...I really need some spicy chai to get the creative juices flowing.
