@Alexandra Bayer That is so interesting. I usually have the glass/mug really close to me so I can reach it without stopping my reading flow. How long do you usually read for?

I love a glass of white wine! But if it's really cold out I prefer to drink coffee

I normally drink something soft during the day when I am reading, such as tea, water, kool-aid. At night, however I tend to drink something hot like coffee or hot chocolate. :D I know that those should probably be reversed but hey it works.

I enjoy a cup of wine or a beer while reading! :D I feel like it's making me feel more relax, enjoy the litterature more. Especially reading on a sunny terrasse with a nice pint! Nothing better!
Got to be careful though not to drink too much otherwise it kind of ruins it haha.
It mostly depends on the kind of book though. If it's something more philosophical or deep, I'll probably stick to tea.

I'm sipping on a cup of coffee as I read your posts right now and I must say there Is something about coffee that makes the mind want to be indulged with stories of fools and kings. It makes a hopeful dreamer out of me when I read

I think it depends on the time of day and weather. (all books in question apply)

Summer :D :P
Morning: Iced Tea
Afternoon: Rum and coke (the way my boyfriend makes it)
Evening: Rum and coke (the way my boyfriend makes it)

Fall :)
Morning: Coffee
Afternoon: mint tea
Evening: green chai tea

Winter  (I live in Canada so it's cold)
Morning: hot milk with honey
Afternoon: hot chocolate
Evening: hot milk with honey

I feel like the beverage does play a huge role in the effectiveness/ amusement of the read. I actually always have a drink in handy while reading; makes the experience tastier! Thank you for posting this discussion post.

My favorite English teacher in high school would only read if she was sitting by the fire place and had a hot cup of tea with her. It did not matter if she was reading a book or a students paper, she would always have her tea with her. In her classroom she had all of the supplies to make tea and she could put up a video of a fireplace. My papers would always come back with tea stains on them and the smell of soot.
I find myself to have followed in her footsteps when it comes to my ideal reading place. I always have tea with me and I find somewhere warm. It is to the point where I find it hard to read for extended periods of time without the tea. That may be a problem.

That is awesome! I also get antsy if I don't have tea or coffee by me when I am reading. Even if I don't touch it. I just like to know it's there.

Like many the season that it is correlates to the beverage. Anytime besides summer it's tea or coffee (sometimes a latte if I'm feeling really ambitions). In the summer time ice cold lemonade or water.
