Does anyone else CRAVE creamy, cheesy buffalo chicken dip?

Because I certainly do! I'm from the northeast where buffalo chicken subs and dip were practically on every corner, along with yummy cheesesteaks (Philly anyone?), however, now I live in Florida where these things don't *really* exist, at least not without traveling too far or hitting a chain restaurant.
Do any of my fellow northern book worms have a simple but delicious recipe for either buffalo chicken dip or subs? I've looked up a few but they seemed iffy, and a few I have tried weren't quite right. Please help me in my tasty food quest!

Hey! I'm from England but love buffalo chicken, I can't find a recipe that does the true American experience justice.
I've never tried buffalo chicken dip, from someone who is passionate about it, can you describe it?

Well I actually ended up making my own recipe! I took few ideas from the internet and just kind of mixed it with how I feel like a genuine, tasty Philadelphia buffalo chicken dip tastes. I'll give you the recipe on how I made it, but the best way I can describe it is... shredded chicken that's kind of creamy with the other ingredients. It's got some spicy kick to it with a lot of flavor and works perfectly hot, cold, on a bun or with chips.
I took several chicken breasts, cooked and shredded them. I tossed that in a bowl with 1 smaller bottle (about 1/2 cup) of Franks Red Hot Buffalo sauce. I added an entire package of Philadelphia cream cheese, about 1/2 cup of blue cheese (or ranch if you'd prefer) and several big handfuls of shredded mozzarella cheese! I mixed it all up and popped in the oven until it was bubbly and a little browned on top. The vote in my house was that it was tasty hot as sandwiches, but even better cold the next day with chips! It was a bit less spicy when it was cold.
If you love buffalo chicken, you'll fall in love!

I’m so giving this a go, it sounds awesome! Sadly, ranch isn’t readily available in my country but boy do I miss it

I don't really eat spicy foods; they hurt my stomach too much! Glad you enjoy it though!
I am a born and raised Floridian! Some of my favorites are Key Lime Pie and alligator tail. We have some odd food here that's for sure! Further north (as I live in Fort Lauderdale), some of the folks there eat frog legs! I have never had them, but from what I have been told, they taste amazing. I will take their word for it!

We make it every Saturday for college football! I don’t use canned chicken. I boil a couple chicken breast until they are fork tender. Then I shred the chicken with a hand mixer, add a 8oz brick of softened cream cheese, Franks red hot to taste, shredded cheese and instead of using prepaid ranch I make my own. Just some mayo, milk, basil, oregano and parsley. Sometimes I add blue cheese, but if I don’t have it, no big deal. I put the dip in crescents, make grilled cheese with it, strombolis, pinwheels using tortilla wraps. It’s all good! And easy to change it up.
I hope you find a recipe you love and reminds you of home!!

It is so tasty and my newest bowl of dip is already gone!
I do love Key Lime Pie, but alligator tail I have yet to try! I keep hearing good things.
I'll have to agree with taking peoples word on the frog legs, not sure I could try that!

That sounds super tasty! I have used the can chicken before and it's okay- but boiled chicken breast (or even fried!) is much better. The tortilla wraps sound awesome though, I need to try that asap and grilled cheese with the dip! Thank you for the tips! Also, would you mind sharing your ranch recipe with me? Ranch is a big deal in my house lol

It’s not the same as the stuff you can buy because that stuff is too goopy for me. Mine is thin, which we prefer. All I use is 1c milk, 1c Mayo, parsley, basil and oregano. I don’t really measure the spices. But maybe a teaspoon each? My husband adds buffalo sauce to his for buffalo ranch. Great over a salad with grilled chicken!
Definitely try the grilled cheese! I just had one for lunch and it was amazing! Whatever fell out was scooped up with tortilla chips.
