Approximations Or Exact Measurements?

Personally, I approximate near every meal I cook. Unless it's a new recipe, I don't typically measure anything. The majority of the food I cook is something I've cooked I'm already familiar with and have cooked an indefinite number of times over, so I just guess-timate and occasionally experiment.

How about everyone else? Do you make sure to measure all the ingredients when you cook, or do you just approximate measurements?

I usually use exact measurements when I’m baking a cake or something similar. I also do so when I’m trying something new. When I’m making my usual curries I usually go by approximations.
